Review: Hidesign Nova Satchel

The first store you see when you go through the main entrance of the elite 1MG Mall, Bangalore is that of Hidesign. There is just no way you could miss that! And when I see one, it is highly improbable that I won’t enter. I already had it in my mind to check out their new Nova launches. Deciding to make best use of my visit I entered the store but was disappointed at finding neither the crossbody nor the small crossbody. But the Nova Satchel was right there and here is a quick review of it. I thank the store assistant there for not only allowing me, but also helping me with the pictures.

To start with the exterior, it has elegance etched all over it. The potent combination of a few crucial elements – the flap, the single top handle, the much-in-trend trapeze silhouette and the muddy red shade – lend it a very polished look. The material is lizard leather. The flap has a twist-lock closure to it and its length is smaller than the length of the bag. In addition to the single top handle, there is also a long crossbody strap. The top handle is vertically flattened and this is where I have a slight reservation – might not be too comfortable to sling it around your elbow.

The flap is only a style element, as it lifts to reveal a zip running along the length. When you slide it open, the bright crimson red interiors leave you mesmerized. As you can see in the picture below, it scores highly on the storage aspect. A zipped divider splits the central compartment into two – one having a zipped wall pocket along with an open pouch, the other having only an open pouch. The key holder, as I have mentioned multiple times on this blog before, is extremely handy and a time saver, not to mention helping the beholder stay organized. In addition, it has a zipped pocket at the back. The hardware is metallic gold.

The cost (I think) is INR 5,995 (I forgot to make a note of the cost in the hurry). It is not exactly cheap but worth every penny invested. Looking forward to discover and recommend more gems from Hidesign!

For the record, the others are - makeup, travel, photography, in no particular order. Here I share my perspective on the Indian as well as the international bag-scene. As a youngster I would spend most of my money on bags and carry one according to my outfit. It is this love that I express through this blog. Needless to say, any suggestions for improvement, even healthy criticisms, are highly encouraged. Hope you enjoy your stay here and find something useful to help you on your next bag purchase!
