5 Chic Makeup Bags by Baggit

Baggit Makeup Bags

Good news for all makeup aficionados in India! You can now do away with your lack-lustre, bland makeup pouches – Baggit has 5 trendy, colorful and fully functional makeup bags, all priced below INR 1,000. Makeup as an industry in the subcontinent has had an explosive growth the last couple of years, what with thousands of beauty blogs dotting the netscape, an influx of international brands and the burgeoning spending power of us ladies. Known for its innovation, Baggit has been quick to spot the trend and has moved in at the right time to fill in the gap. I had been to the Lulu Mall, Cochin a few days back and with the help of the extremely helpful Baggit store assistants – Tejas and Alwin – have been able to put together detailed pictures. Choosing one among them will be quite a task! The items are ordered in increasing order of my preference.

1. Mu Stanley Jhumroo Black

For all its floral pattern and outwardly charm, this is just a dumping pouch – no organizers whatsoever. It does have a zipped pocket at the back though. This would be more apt as a toiletries case rather than as a makeup one. It is priced at INR 850.

2. Mu T Junction Jhumroo Black

Baggit Mu T Junction Jhumroo Black

T Junction is a variation of the Stanley, in terms of its floral print. But the interior is quite fascinating. It has two button snap closures that open up to reveal a flat organizer. There is a central zipped section and on either side of it, two transparent storage pouches with zips that are placed at the ends of the flat surface. There is no handle, just a tiny loop that’s fit for a finger perhaps, or for a hook as shown in the first picture. The organization is novel and being the cheapest at INR 625, this one should not have trouble finding loads of takers.

3. Mu Sneaky Flocknet in Brown

Sneaky Flocknet has a cylindrical structure. There is no transparent pouch, just two zipped wall pockets within the single central external zipper. One could store makeup brushes or such in the central section. It has an interesting design in velvet on the exterior. The Sneaky Flocknet costs INR 650.

4. Mu Chubby Aaron in Blue

This is my second favourite – again a no-frills bag with an austere exterior. You would be excused for undermining its storage space; the advanced makeup lover can literally pack their entire universe – well, almost! Space-wise definitely bigger than the Mu Chunks, hence appropriate for longer trips or for those who like to carry their whole stash along. There is no top handle, only a side loop for the wrist. This also happens to be the most expensive among the group – INR 950.

5. Mu Chinks Regent Cream

Mu Chinks is a star and my favourite of the lot; you’ll see why! The exterior has a canvas feel to it. There is a central cylindrical transparent zipped pouch that opens horizontally and the rest of the bag wounds up neatly around it. There is no visible closure – the magnets are concealed keeping only the functional parts in focus. The canvas material means there are no hard surfaces and it can be easily stashed away in a corner of your travel bag/suitcase. Yet, the central enclosed pouch ensures that delicate stuff is stored securely. This is the perfect makeup carrier for the beginner-to-experienced makeup lover; also for those who like to travel light. At INR 850, this bag is a must-have! Go for it girls!

About the author

Vidya Gupta

Mother to three lovely boys and wife of a banking professional, I am extremely passionate about a host of topics, bags being one of them. For the record, the others are - makeup, travel, photography, in no particular order. Here I share my perspective on the Indian as well as the international bag-scene. As a youngster I would spend most of my money on bags and carry one according to my outfit. It is this love that I express through this blog. Needless to say, any suggestions for improvement, even healthy criticisms, are highly encouraged. Hope you enjoy your stay here and find something useful to help you on your next bag purchase!
