Finally, I could check out Baggit Carnival Collection bags. To put it in the brand’s terms, this collection “is inspired by carnivals from around the globe” and “flaunts traditional, mysterious prints and cuts such as masks, feathers and even animal inspired details”. Given this background, I’d have expected bright colors and lively prints. Let’s see how it actually fares…
This collection has 8 basic designs in two color variations each. The prices are in the range of INR 675 – INR 3,100. It has 2 sling bags, 3 shoulder bags and 3 wallets. The Claudia stands out in terms of its vibrant color and print on the exterior. It has a central draw-string opening and internally divided by a zipped pocket. But on the other bags, except the clutches, I did not find anything exceptional. Even the texture, the material are more luxurious in some of their other bags, but not in this particular collection.
The wallets are the silver lining in this otherwise dull collection. The design and functionality is stunning, especially this wallet called the Flirty Bindas. In fact, I am purchasing one for myself. There are 2 top and 2 side zips. The central section between the two top zips opens out completely flat to reveal a few card slots and two deep pouches behind the slots. It has two snap magnetic closure buttons. The carnival print appears on only side of the wallet. It has a loop that can be slid around the wrist, allowing an option to be hands-free when required. Some might find the number of card slots to be limiting considering there are only 5 of them. But I give a thumbs-up to this particular wallet that is clearly the star of this collection!
Another wallet worthy of mention is the Smoothy Bindas that has a double flap – I usually like bags with double flaps. The outer flap has a distinct insect print.
The other bags are covered in the slideshow below. Have you purchased any carnival bag yet? Which is your favourite?
