Daughter of fashion designer Pria Kataria Puri, Reaa Puri carries the classic Chanel 2.55 bag at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive Meet 2013, held at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, on 31st July. She seemed completely at ease in her casual white tee and black leggings adding a bold red only on her lips and accessorizing only with the iconic bag.
A more detailed view of the bag follows:
This is one bag that has weathered many a trend in the fashion industry and is still hailed as one of the most coveted. There is an easy-to-access pouch at the backside:
It has a zippered compartment right on the inside of the front flap. The design elements of this bag are said to have been inspired by the convent in which Coco Chanel grew up.
There is a similar bag Chanel introduced, called the Reissue 2.55, on the occasion of their 50th anniversary in 2005. Though there are umpteen texture, color and leather choices available, the Chanel 2.55 and its many versions do not come cheap – they are priced upwards of $1400. Though such luxury buying trend is still nascent in India, Chanel does adopt strategies such as sales to help first-time buyers experience luxury first hand.
