we follow little initiatives which helps us to conserve electricity, water and energy so as to reduce, reuse, and recycle our resources; We have stopped using plastic bags and we have started using bags made of old clothes. Like, when we need to buy grocery items, we carry our own clothes bags and gather all our purchased grocery items. These bags are switched and sewed by my mother and these are made from our old clothes which we now do not wear or our torned off. We walk to the market instead of using vehicles, moreover we do car-pooling for going to office so that we may save petrol. We have constructed our accommodation in a such a way that we get enough day-light all during the day so that we may not use lights during the day instead we use day-light to do our household chores. We have started using CFL bulbs which will consume less electricity as compared to tube lights and earlier used bulbs. We do not leave tap running. We take water in a mug and then brush our teeth as running tap wastes a lot of water. Similarly for bathing we fill in one bucket of water instead of running tap water. When ever we wash pulses or vegetables, we accumulate this water in a separate container and we use this water to water our plants. This way, we try to do our bit to save water. Similarly, we accumulate water used to wash clothes and use this water to wash our balcony.when ever in our family, when ever a birthday of our family member comes, we plant tree in our nearby park. When its rainy season, we have Rain Harvest system in the nearby parks so that the water table of the ground rises and thus with these little initiatives we try to say thank n contribute our share to save our environment

  • Hi
thank you for conducting such an awesome giveaway ๐Ÿ™‚
Well , things that I โ€˜Reduce, Reuse and Recycleโ€™ in my daily life are :
Reduce : take a public transport instead of private vehicle to go for shopping.
Reuse : use cloth bags made by used or remaining pieces of clothes .
Recycle : water used for washing the vegetables etc in the kitchen ,I use for plants .
my small contribution to save mother Earth !! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Liked both the pages.
Reduce , Recycle ,Reuse are three important things which will help us to conserve our natural resources and protect our environment.
We should reduce the wastage of all natural resources , water , electricity should be wisely used .When not required electrical switches should be switched off , leaking taps should be immedietly repired.LPG , coal , Kerosene should be used wisely. If possible one can use solar cooker for cooking .pressure cookers with multiple pots should be used to save LPG.
Instead of using shower one can use Bucket to take a bath as it requires less water.
Old clothes or old stuffs can be used wisely to make decorative pieces. This helps in reuse of product and we can also get artistic pleasure in doing so,
Old news papers can be used to make paper bags .
Old jeans can be used for making Bags.

  • Hello Team,

I have liked both the pages and shared the post too and tagged you in it ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, as responsible citizens of the country Me and My family have adopted our own ways to reduce, reuse and recycle!

    – I and everyone in our colony segregate dry and wet waste.
    – Carry our water bottles from home whenever we go out instead of buying a plastic water bottle
    – Have replaced all the yellow bulbs in the house with CFL Bulbs
    – Have installed a solar unit that helps us get hot water all throughout the day and at the same time reduces the electricity bill.
    – Try to utilize public transport as much as possible
    – Store rainwater in a tank placed above the house, the connecting pipe to this tank is used to water plants
    – Never throw away stuff soon and always try to do something creative when it comes to waste like cardboard sheets, ice-cream sticks, toothpaste caps etc, have made a lot of gifting material with such items!

  • Thanks for organizing such an innovative and helpful contest for us and for the society itself. It really helped everybody a lot
