The lists are already doing their rounds. Now is the time to look at the trends that herald summers unmistakably. True blue fashionistas are never bound by rules; what’s comfortable and suits one’s personality beats the trends any day, but it’s good to be aware of what the industry is betting on; especially when it comes to bags & luggage.
1. Florals
Nothing’s more synonymous with the season than bright new blossoms springing to life. The unlimited colors are a sight to behold and so are the bags inspired by this theme. Florals would be the most recurrent theme of Spring Summer fashion shows the world over.
2. Whites
Crisp white shirts or pristine white bags mean business. Just perfect for a formal setting. Lack of other colors is hardly a deterrent for variety; silhouettes and textures open up a world of possibility.
3. Polka
Dior introduced their classic Miss Sicily in polka dots with their Spring Summer ’15 collection. The sprightly dots won hearts instantly. These were a rage in the 80’s and 90’s; fashion does go around in circles. The dots can be reinvented in a host of different ways.
4. Pastels
Toasted Almond, Lucite Green, Custard, Strawberry Ice – the names are as irresistibly beautiful (and good to eat!!) as the colors themselves. Spring landscapes offer plenty of inspiration for pastels. They even have a soothing effect on nerves, much needed in these times of stress and fast paced life.
5. Lace
Lace exemplifies feminity. Such bags with their intricate details add a dainty touch to the outfit, not to mention that they look super cute. Lace on garments is usually the norm, but have it on your bags and you have a statement piece at hand. They may, however, not be suitable for everyday rigor.
6. Feather
This season feathers made quite an appearance on the runways. They embody a free-spirited character much like what the lady of today possesses. Whether in the form of motifs or the real thing, they ooze a light, breezy feel, much like the demands of the weather. Last year too Louis Vuitton and Valentino had feather bags in their collections. In India though, the trend is still in its nascent stage.
So, let us know which trend you are most excited to follow and flaunt!
